What type of grill do you have?

Back when I lived in Michigan I had a really nice Weber gas grill with cast iron grates. I loved that thing, everything cooked up so nicely. Now I have a cheap walmart grill with a teflon coated grate. After the third or fourth cookout the teflon started coming off. I guess you get what you pay for huh, anyways...I was checking out the big old fancy JenAir grills at Lowes today. You know, the ones that start at $999.00 and go up LOL, anyways they are all pretty and shiny because they are stainless steel but to be honest if they cook anything like my stainless steel skillets and pots then I'd be very unhappy with a grill like that. Absolutely everything sticks to our stainless steel cookware and both my wife and I hate having to cook in it. I can't image the stainless steel grills being any different.

Check out the stainless steel - Weber Gas Grill. My husband has that one and it wasn't as expensive. It sure is a fancy smachie cooking machine, too! It cooks like a dream. The grill also has a side burner for cooking. I got a fantastic deal on the Weber at Amazon.com and no shipping fees. We too, looked at the jet air at Lowe's yesterday. Husband said didn't like those grates inside. If you want to spend that much money on a grill check out a Viking.

I just don't trust stainless steel after using them indoor with skillets. It would be ok if it was stainless stell but with cast iron grates inside

I am sorry I should have clarified - that's what he has a stainless steel shell. Grates aren't stainless steel.

I do have the Jenn Air stainless and let me say for the record. I would not have it any other way. I have them well seasoned by now and you can't even tell that they are stainless. My fish skin does not stick. However...I always have my grill smoking hot and well lubricated prior to ANYTHING being placed on the grates. I have successfully had this grill up to 700 degree before. Yep...thats hot! I can get that seared crust on my grill without using a sear burner. It cost me around $1000.00 but in my humble opinion, its worth it.

I have a 4 burner Charmglow barbeque grill I bought at Home Depot last spring and I am extremely happy with it. The body is stainless steel, but the grills are porcelain coated cast iron, which means I can either scrub them in place with a brass brush, or I can take them out and throw them into the dishwasher.

But what I like best about it is, the side burner gets hot enough that I can not only boil water to steam vegetables, but I can also use my wok to stir fry vegetables or make fried rice, outside on the balcony, while the meat is cooking on the barbeque. No needless running in and out to check on things on the stove, then things on the barbie.

I have a Ducane grill at home. It has been a very nice grill and easy to use. You can get it very hot and it is easy to clean. I am thinking about building a kitchen island by my pool and replace my grill. I have always wanted a kitchen island with a grill, sink and fridge.

Right now I have a basic charcoal grill. I might get a cheap gas grill for next summer if I get my own place. I would love to try it out.
