Thank you for sharing this Gypsy!
Unfortunately, I doubt I would be able to do Hells Kitchen.
The amount of pressure that the contestants must go through, would probably be way too much for me to handle.
Good luck to anyone who decides to try out for this though!
Looking forward to seeing some of you on television!

I'd love to try out for the show but I always worry about the length of time one must commit to be on reality TV. I mean, yeah you could go home quickly, but even with that they sometimes "keep" you for later so you can't leak information until the taping is over. And if you actually made it to the top couple but didn't win you could have been gone a couple months but not have gotten the spiffy new job.

I'd love to be on this show, but there are two reasons why I'd fail miserably.
First, my cooking skills aren't up to a professional kitchen. I do a lot of things at home, but I've never cooked professionally and wouldn't know the first thing about how to do anything Chef Ramsey expects me to know.
Secondly, with HIS attitude, Chef Ramsey would wind up with a frying pan upside the head the first time he yells at me, because I just don't put up with that kind of attitude. I've never been a waitress for the same reason - first time I get a smartmouth comment from a customer, he'll be WEARING his order, not eating it!

Chef Gordon Ramsey is a great chef and a great host, but I would never wanted to meet him in a darkened alleyway...err kitchen! I can like his show as much as I want, while still being too chicken to show up on it myself!

I love watching this show but would never have the guts to actually try to get on the show!
Chef Ramsey does have his moments in the kitchen but to me he seems like such nice guy when he gets one on one with some of the contestants. You know, after they win a special prize, etc.

Yeah - that's why I don't think he really needs to do all the screaming and yelling. Those contestants are so eager for a few moments alone with him to learn from him, and they soak up everything he says -- I truly think he gets through to them much better in those few calm moments than he does throughout all those episodes of berserk behavior.
I really have to hand it to those contestants. As bad as Chef Ramsey makes some of them feel, they still would get down on their knees and kiss his feet when he's through with them. It takes a lot to admit to being that humble.

It would never work. The first time he yelled or cursed at me, I'd smack him in the head with a cast iron skillet so hard, he'd have to unzip his fly to eat!

Oh Glory, no I would NOT want to be on Hell's Kitchen! I feel so bad for those folks on there... I know they want it, but it would be too much for me to take!
