Description: Low fat meatballs with seasoned tomato sauce, for the weight watchers among us.
|
| Ingredients: |
- 1lb ground turkey, 93/7
- 1/3 of a cup of bread crumbs
- Cooking spray
- Dried spaghetti
- Can of tomato sauce
- Italian seasoning
- Small cooking onion
|
| Preparation: |
- Finely chop onion
- Add Italian seasoning to tomato sauce.
|
| Instructions: |
- Mix ground turkey, onions, bread crumbs and seasoning to taste in a bowl.
- Form into balls-approximately 12. Using an ice cream scoop can help.
- Spray a baking sheet or pan with spray and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Turn and bake for another 5, or until they are brown and starting to crisp.
- Portion spaghetti (I use a measurer to ensure portion size) and cook.
- Warm sauce.
- Serve balls on top of portion of spaghetti, pour sauce over them. Calorie content is dependant on ensuring portion size, and brands used.

These would be perfect for my husband and daughter. They love meatballs, but in my attempt to cook healthier lately, I've been not making these when I do up spaghetti. I will have to give these a whirl and see if they like them!

I love turkey burgers but for some reason, I never thought of trying turkey meatballs! Your recipe sounds really good, I think I will try it the next time I make speghetti.
