Hey Y'all! I just scored two tickets to Paula Deen's party here in Norfolk for Sept 13th, center stage, second row! Wow - two Paula experiences for me in 2 months (reservations at Lady & Sons on July 12th)!

I don't know if cameras will be allowed at the Ted center, but I will take pics when I'm at the restaurant on July 12th...and all my T-Bird clan! Really looking forward to all of it in the next 2 months!

I'm giving my second ticket to my next-door-neighbor who really loves Paula. Her birthday is 9/17, so I thought it would be a good present. She just about did cartwheels when I told her!!!

That's funny about your next door neighbor doing cartwheels lol that is so nice of u giving her a great gift to see Paula's Party in Sept. I bet u made her really happy camper.

Today's the day! I'm taking a very large purse and putting my camera in it with hopes they'll allow photos. I'm also taking my little DVD video camera, which no one should notice (the other camera has a very long lense - 18-200 - and though I can photograph without flash, they may not allow that).

I also found out that Paula was here in Norfolk 3 weeks ago and filmed a "Paula's Party" episode with Michelle Obama. It was a closed "party" - no audience for security reasons, and also so Paula could talk one-on-one with Michelle. It should air in 3 weeks.

Hey y'all...I'm back! WOW! What a fun experience it turned out to be (especially since my experience at "The Lady & Son's" in July was such a disappointment). Paula is hilarious - no script here - and Michael Groover - her husband - is right up there with her! They told some of the funniest stories - including a very risque one about when they got their CraigCat stuck on a sandbar up a creek going from Bobby's house to their house. Can't tell the details here -I mean it about the 'risque'

I was able to take a bunch of pics (no problem there), and did about 25 minutes of video before some beefy-armed security guard grabbed my shoulder and said, "NO VIDEO!" I thought he was going to confiscate the disc from my DVD recorder, but I dropped it into my purse right away.

Paula wasn't real happy about all the rules and regulations that were put upon her by the state of Virginia, so she ignored them, and said, "What are they gonna do...fire me??" Yuk,Yuk! She was really cool in that respect.

Well, here are a few pics. Just ask if you have any questions, but I highly recommend going to a show if one comes near you. She's really that good!

No - we couldn't eat anything - she did have to stick to the rule from the health dept, and besides, there were over 1,000 people there! Paula actually didn't cook anything. Her assistant, Danny, did it all, and it was only for demonstration purposes. Michael kept saying, "Come on back over here, Paula, and stir this thing!" - and she'd ignore him and wander all over the stage talking to the audience and telling stories. She was such a hoot!
