Hubby and I are big sci-fi fans. (Scince fiction) We are not weirdos that own coustumes and speak Klingon, nor are we in any fan clubs. We like the movies, t.v. shows and books. If you go to one of these expect to pay $15 parking, $50 to get in, $35+ to get in to any "shows" (That is the temp talking about the 3 or 4 times he was in the show), $25 for shirts. $15 for posters, $10 for the actor or actress's pictures that can be signed by the regulars that were apart of the show, (not the "stars" of the show because they have better things to do.) And when you finally get to talk to someone in the show after waiting in line for an hour for them to sign your $10 picture (because they won't sign anything else) you get three seconds to say something like, "Gee, I can't believe it's really you!" their responses are all the same. "That's nice." or, that's great." We should have gone out to dinner and saw a moive instead. Trust me, I'm not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree but it's cold day in Hell before I ever go to another one of those!

OMG jgirl, you are a funny one today! Wear costumes and speak klingon, that had me rolling! I hear ya though, seems like anythin glike tha tyou pay completely throught the nose for. Mr. Lizzy went to see Bob Dylan last night, first off, and no offense Kathy I know you are a fan, I cannot believe anyone would pay $125.00 for tickets to that concert, then another $25.00 for a t-shirt and God only knows how much for a beverage!

I forgot the food!! I think it was alien chow because no self respecting human would eat that crap! The convention hall next to Ihop, Red Lobster, Applebees, Olive Garden and an Asain resturant. I (atleast) ate better than those poor saps. Oh yes and the prices!! Sweet Lord!! I had better for cheaper at Olive Garden!

Oh yeah, Olive Garden is terrific. I love that zuppa toscana, and have made it at home - it came out just like the restaurant's.

a refund

I had a long conversation with a girl named Jody Goode who works for the PR firm who handled the TX wine & food fest. I told her in detail what the problems were and why I was so disappointed. They are having a post production meeting in a couple days, maybe next week and many of my suggestions will be implimented next year. She said that most of the emails they got were very complimentory although they did get some complaints. (a lot of complaints or they wouldn't be messing with them would be my guess) She said none of the complaints were as detailed as mine which is why they wanted to talk to me. I'm guessing that next years event will be greatly improved.

As I stated in the letter, i can tell them how to fix it, but it will cost $45.00.

They indeed are paying me the $45 in the form of a refund.

I will be attending next year to view the improvements.

Sorry that you had such an awful experience Dave. I sure hope that they make good on the $45 and also many improvements for next years show.

You would think that they would realize that people don't mind paying for a show if it is worth it. One bad experience is past onto more folks than a good one.

You would think that they would have it down by now.
