speaking of mushrooms................
What is the best way to store them? I can't get mushrooms to last more than a day.

I keep them in the produce bag, but I roll it back (sort of like a cuff) and leave it open so they can breathe.
They start breaking down after about 5 days, but they rarely hang around my kitchen that long. Love 'em!

I've read that the best way is to store them in a paper bag. They need to breathe and stay dry, and the plastic on the containers we buy them in traps moisture.
I usually put a folded paper towel in the bottom of the bag before pouring the mushrooms in. For those of us who occasionally order carry out, if the bag stays clean (no grease soaking through), it's usually the perfect size. Bigger than a lunch bag so minimal stacking of shrooms.
