In-Room Plus, Inc And In-Room West, Inc. Issue Nationwide Voluntary Recall On In-Shell Roasted Salted Pistachios And Pistachio Berry Granola (Energy Boost)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- In-Room Plus, Inc. of Buffalo, NY and In-Room West, Inc. of San Francisco, CA are recalling all in-shell roasted salted Pistachios and Pistachio Berry Granola because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. This action is a result of the SETTON PISTACHIO OF TERRA BELLA INC., in Terra Bella CA expanded recall of April 6, 2009 for all products manufactured in their Terra Bella facility since September 15, 2008.

Salmonella is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
