Great Skott Foods Announces Nationwide Voluntary Recall of Snack Mixes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Milwaukee, WI (February 02, 2009) – Great Skott Foods is voluntarily recalling the snack mixes listed below that were manufactured using peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of America. The company initiated the voluntary recall in response to an expanded recall by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). PCA’s expanded recall now includes all peanuts and peanut related products manufactured at their Blakely, GA facility. The FDA is investigating an outbreak of Salmonella linked to that manufacturing facility.
These snack mixes are sold nationwide at retail and convenience stores. Consumers are advised to either destroy them, or return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

About Salmonella
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
