Rachael's Show Being Sued
Rachael's show is being sued because an accountant on the show suffered anorexia, and was bullied somewhat, and forced out of the job. But now of course the media is reporting that SHE is being sued, even though she isn't named as a defendant in the case.
Seems unfair that her rep might be hurt now because of idiots on her crew.

I guess I don't get it... why would someone be bullied because they were anorrexic? And if it's true she was badgered until she left the job, then they deserve the lawsuit.

Since we're such a sue-happy society, I'd wait till I read the complaint as filed, then wait for the other side's version. Some people seem to take offense at something that others don't.
$1million for wrongful termination plus punitive damages seems a bit much for a show's accountant...unless tv shows pay exceptionally well.

Logic vs Anorexia?
Anorexia is a mental disoder.
If a person can look into a mirror and see their body wasting away, and still think they are fat. Then how can we expect them to logically react in other areas of their life. This is such an unfortunate diesese, it is not as simple as..."Just eat something!"

Elaine you are right there-when someone's mindset is so warped then yes, they may not look at other things logically too when they relate to their condition. Apparently the guy objected to comments that they made and yet they refused to stop, even though he took offence. This is how he claims he was forced out.

What if they were concerned?
Are we not supposed to say something to someone that we can see has a problem because they might sue us? There must be more to this than I am grasping right now.

Isn't this looking like you're damned if you do (try to be helpful....the person's wasting away because they perceive themself as fat) and damned if you don't (what if everyone's quiet and the person drops dead at work...why didn't you help the person see there's a problem?)?
When did we become obsessed with our figures? I've always been a scrawny stick, wondering why I didn't get my mother's and daughter's voluptuous figures. My mother's figure had to be tightly bound during the flapper era. So I guess we've been oddly focused on size and shape for long while.

I think I will be waiting until everything is in the clear as well. I have known some anorexics before and I can understand the disease but really an accountant? I honestly don't see those folks working with others all that much to end up dealing with this kind of mess.

It wasn't a matter of them expressing concern. It was more that they were saying how ing they thought anorexics were, and it progressed from there.

This reminds me of the old adage "believe half of what you see and none of what you hear."
Unless this gets shown on Court TV (I don't remember it's new name), we'll never know what's real.
I heard that someone said something like (he/she/or a name) ought to eat more. The way it was worded, it seemed to be one person overheard another making a comment to a third person.
