Question for Michael??

Are the Napa shows that are on Fine Living recently taped? How do they compare to when the FN shows are taped?

I am sure that Chef MC can answer this more appropriately, but if you don't mind I can shed a little light on this.

Napastyle shows are older episodes and no more are currently being taped to my knowledge. They have just been renewed for re-runs according to Scripps Network, but I do not believe new ones are being taped.

EE are being taped currently and given how FN is at least showing MC on different "special episodes" now, it would appear that they are happy with him and are starting to promote him a little (not that he needs FN to do that).

I personally have always been a fan of Napastyle and would take that show 10 times out of 10 and twice on Sunday. Its just a better show and MC can be MC and not who FN wants him to be. Its his show. Let him be who he is.

I have a Tivo unit and I have every single episode stored for Napastyle and I have a DVD recorder hooked up to it and I am currently burning them to DVD. I have every single episode of EE as well with the exception of 3 episodes soted and I will be burning them next. The only other show I am working on is Bobbly Flay Boy Meets Grill.

There I said it. I AM A CLOSET BOBBY FLAY FAN! So they are being Tivo'd now and they are next.

I don't get FL either in N'fk or down here on the island, but are the shows you are referring to "Michael Chiarello's Napa"? If so, that show was originally done for PBS starting in 2001. I have a DVD that came with the companion cookbook which my DH gave me for a birthday present that year.

Elle...

I think X is talking about Napastyle and not Michael Chiarello's Napa. I have not seen that shown on TV anywhere is a very long time unless they are showing re-runs on local PBS stations in other locations.

The only show Chef MC does on FL is Napastyle and the occasional special like the "Inside Terra" show.

Just my .02!

Elle - I've never seen Michael's shows on PBS, but on the older "Napastyle" reruns, he has the little chin whiskers (I know there's a name, BTW, I like him better clean-shaven).

Thanks Jason, yes, I'm talking about Napastyle - I'm with you on it being so much better then the FN shows.
Kathy - LOL about his "hair chin"
So happy you're a Flay fan Jason - hope you are voting

Michael - We are so glad to see you on this board again. You have been missed! I know you have been very busy. Can you tell me where I can get a soup ladle like yours? It is metal with a pour spout. It isn't in your catalog, thanks.
