Old cookbooks
I inherited several cookbooks from my grandmother. They were published in the 50's or 60's, and a few even earlier than that. They have some really great recipes in them, although many of them call for ingredients in a form that is no longer available. They certainly don't try to be healthy in the way many modern recipes do. Does anybody have any old cookbooks that just love?

I have a couple from past generations that I had to have scanned to keep the copy correct as the pages were torn up some. its a pain but some of the old recipes are really good and well worth the extra care for the books sake.

I like to buy old cookbooks at book sales, especially church cookbooks or ones from women's organizations. Usually these will have some really good "old home cooking" type dishes in them.
Recently I picked up a cookbook for a dollar at a recent sale. It was how to make jam and preserves in the microwave. I'm glad I only spent a dollar on it, because after reading it I discovered there isn't a single thing I'm interested in making from that book. It's next appearance will be at my condo's dumpster.
