Yes indeed, we have had lots of practice.

I have just heard the news and they are saying that they are turning back the folks that they told could return to there homes. Jason you were smart in getting your family out of there and to higher ground. I sure hope that you can get the heck out of there also or get to much higher ground.

I forgot to mention that I got a kick out of seeing them rescue a 300 lb pot belly pig. Now that was a real chore.

Thanks Jason for the insightful picture of you. I must say time does change things. I got up last night and this morning the weatherman said Rita was heading to Corpus Christi. Then by noon - they are saying Galveston. So, who knows what will happen. Maybe, we both will dodge the bullet with it going into Mexico. The weatherman seem to think that will happen if the high pressure stays over us. After the first cold front it will be over for another hurricane season. This weatherman did predict a cold front moving this way. So, if it happens this week - the cold front will put Texas out of danger. I hope everyone will be alright, including Elle. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be prepared either.

I am sorry Jason you have to continue your 24/7 working. You do need to get a rest and away from this stuff even for a day or two. If your wife and daughter leaves will you join them?

Anne...

Again thanks for the kind thoughts.

As you might imagine, I have access to weather information that most do not. I have just come out of a meeting that started at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Here is the current information and you need to be aware.

The storm has not shifted in course, but it has picked up speed. The low pressure center moving into Texas is not as strong as originally predicted and therefore, the high pressure that is sitting right on top of Texas continues to be in control and not breaking down as quickyl as originally thought. What this means is that the high pressure will continue to stear this thing further south and the current track puts in into Matagorda Bay to Rockport. YES ROCKPORT!

They are predicting a Cat 3 to Cat 4 storm by landfall somewhere around 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

You need to think about getting out of there.

Jason

Jason - thanks for the insight on the storm. Yes, we were told tonight if that high pressure doesn't move Corpus Christi is the mark. If the high pressure moves it will be Matagorda Island. It is so strange as they have started evcuating high profile vehicles from Padre Island, Flour Bluff and Port Aransas. As you know we all have so much to do with boarding up, etc..... We discussed tonight that we are staying - unless it gets to bad and then leaving. I have 3 dogs and a husband that works for the Navy. Pray - he doesn't have to stay at the base, as in the past. Then I will be alone.

Come on to AZ with the dogs and you won't have to be alone. Dogs will have Coco and a fenced in yard. No storms are due to hit here just sun and blue skies.
