Metric Conversions
Much Needed info:
Metric Conversions
If you are confused by the metric system, check out our conversion tables for help.
Capacity
1/5 teaspoon = 1 militers
1 teaspoon = 5 ml
1 tablespoon = 15 ml
1 fluid oz. = 30 ml
3.4 fluid oz. = 100 ml
1 cup = 240 ml
34 fluid oz. = 1 liter
4.2 cups = 1 liter
2.1 pints = 1 liter
1.06 quarts = 1 liter
.26 gallon = 1 liter
Weight
.035 ounce = 1 gram
3.5 ounces = 100 grams
1.10 pounds = 500 grams
2.205 pounds = 1 kilogram
35 oz. = 1 kilogram
Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversions
FAHRENHEIT CELSIUS
250° F 120° C
275° F 140° C
300° F 150° C

I actually have a list printed and stuck to the side of my fridge nearest the stove. Its come in handy when I was using a scientific recipe site and needed to convert for my mom.

Metric Conversions
A lot of English recipes are need for these conversions as i do like Jamie's way of cooking and Nigella as well. Placing the conversions on the fridge is a great idea.

Lol, I'm a science geek so cooking by weight not volume appeals to me. You get alot of metric as well since its the scientific unit of choice. My husband doesn't have them memorized like I do though.
