Martha Stewart, anyone?
I completely adore her! I think every woman wanted to have some part of Martha, be like her and do wonders at home like her. She's very inspiring and motivating.

Martha runs hot & cold for me. I loved her years ago when she was on PBS, but she then became a real p-i-t-a with her holier-than-thou attitude. Then came the jail time, and upon starting her new show when she got out, she was very humble and knew her boundaries. This season, she is gradually moving back to her condescending comments, and I am quickly losing respect for her again. How quickly she forgets.
Yes, she has good ideas, but don't believe she actually does everything she says. Just ask Wes and Angie, who were her slaves for 2 years.

I have to agree with Islandtime, I really liked her in the beginning, but as happens all too often. She started believing her own press ! I was truly hoping that the jail time would humble her but doesn't seem to have lasted. Now that doesn't mean that I don't 'get' something out of her books/shows etc. But personally, I think she is an mean spirited woman.

I never did like her, always thought she kind of 'looked down her nose'' at everyone. Also that she put on a perfect home life, then out came the movie with Cybil Shepard who did a terrific job by the way...

To be honest, I never cared for her.
She's too full of herself, and seems like a real snob.
Hell, I may even say she "represents everything wrong about american society these days" but that may be going a LITTLE too far. Needless to say, nobody should be using her as a rolemodel.
She may be inspirational in some ways, but for the most part...

Really? I never knew about the part that she spent time in jail! For what reason? Oh, well, I must look it up. Well, I just have all the good stories about her, but not the negative publicity.

You have to be kidding! Let's start with 1.insider trading, 2. obstruction of justice, 3. securities fraud, 4. conspiracy to obstruct justice, 5. false statements, 6. perjury...
and that doesn't include the civil action against her. One of her co-conspirators was her broker, Peter Bocanovic. She is now a convicted felon, having spent her jail time at Alderson Federal Prison Camp for Women, Alderson, WV, from October 8, 2004 to March 5, 2005.
On a side note, while she was in prison, there was a contest for best Christmas decoration. There were several teams - her team lost!

I loved her old shows when she would "showcase" guest chefs -

I never really cared about her before the jail time, I was too young. Now, although some of her ideas are good, I tend not to watch her show based on principle. She's a felon and seems to have no remorse for what she did.
I usually end up seeing the first part of her shows as it's right after my son's favorite kids show.
