Iron Chef America tonite

Bobby Flay vs. Rick Bayless - Kevin the floor reporter just announced "things are getting hot on Chef Flay's side of Kitchen Stadium. Bobby Flay just began to bark at his staff." Which caused Bobby to simultaneously glare at the floor reporter, almost drop the saute pan and bust out laughing all at the same time. I feel bad for Bobby. He always seems so disorganized during these competitions. He's always runnign back and forth from stove to ingredient pile like he doesn't know what the heck he's doing, while the other guy is calmly chopping or cooking or something.

Uh Oh. It isn't on here yet. I am waiting for it. 2 more hours I think. I hope Bobby wins. He always makes such delicious looking food. I like Rich B. also but I hope Bobby wins.

I know who won but I won't ruin it for you. Let's just say it wasn't who I thought it would be. LOL.

A great competition and very close. I hope the rest of the series is as good.

I actually though that Rick Bayless's food was better than Bobby's. But I see this happening on the regular Iron Chef too. I sometimes wonder if the contest was decided before they even started cooking....

I didn't like the judge's comment about how, if he never had a dish before, he wouldn't know if it was cooked better than it ever had been in the history of the dish, or something like that. You would think a judge would know a good presentation and a tasty bit of food whether or not he ever ate it before. Just because he wasn't all that crazy about it he had to be negative.

i actually thought that that was a very astute thing to say...just because something isn't to your personal taste doesn't mean that it isn't a creative and well-made dish. he's telling the chef that he doesn't like it, but not to take it personal. i know i've had to say that on many occasions, when someone asks me to try something that i don't like and wouldn't like no matter who made it.

It was a good show and more suited to American tastes. I only wish they would allow the Challenger to pick the competitor. That's what they did on the (Japan) Iron Chef. I do think - the two, Bobby and Rick were well matched. It was very interesting to see how they would prepare the Buffalo. I know Bobby has said many times before - that Buffalo was his favorite meat. I am looking forward to the next show. I am also glad Food Network decided to pick 3 real Iron Chefs. Don't get me wrong as I do like Wolfgang and his cooking style.

Did you watch these shows on New Year's Eve? FTV ran the making of Iron CHef America first, then six hours of Iron Chef America episodes. They've done really well with this show, it's very exciting and entertaining. And it's fun watching the chefs go against each other, since each one of them has their own individual styles. There was one show where they teamed Bobby Flay and Morimoto against Sakai and Batali. Great show.
