Eric McLendon (Chef Bio)

Eric McLendon, host of Food Network’s Recipe for Success, has accumulated a broad professional background throughout his career. This range of experience leads him to his newest role - hosting one of Food Network's popular prime-time programs. Each week Recipe for Success brings food dreams to life for remarkable people who swallowed their fears to undergo a major career change. This documentary series tracks budding businesses from the ground up - from idea to opening day, as aspiring food entrepreneurs leave behind careers they know to follow a dream.

Eric’s career as a sports anchor has taken him across the country. He has covered all the major sporting events including six Super Bowls and has been nominated for three Emmy Awards.

The Chicago native has also appeared in several television programs as an actor. Eric's credits include NBC's Law & Order, Law & Order Criminal Intent, CBS's Guiding Light, ABC's All My Children, and a recurring role as officer Steve Madison on One Life To Live.

In addition to TV, Eric has performed on film and the stage. In 2004 he spent five months performing Off-Broadway in New York City. He loves Shakespeare and dreams of playing Othello one day soon.

Eric played baseball at Texas Christian University and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He has been professionally trained in television, theater, and voice.
