The Emeril Lagasse Foundation raised more than $2.5 million at Carnivale Du Vin, a celebrity-rich fundraiser that unfolded last weekend in New Orleans. Proceeds benefit children in the New Orleans area. Some grants were announced at the event, including $250,000 for the Café Reconcile Capital Campaign to create the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Culinary Learning Center.
Cafe Reconcile (1631 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.) is a restaurant that trains at-risk youths in the hospitality business.
