I keep meaning to catch it but there is always something else on that I want to watch more. I've heard from a few people it's a pretty good show. Maybe someday I'll catch it. I even tried setting it to my Tivo but it conflicts with some other shows.

Welcome Thaworth to our cooking family. To answer your question - yes I enjoy watching this show. It reminded me of how much I miss diners. There isn't any that I know of in Texas. I can understand your intrigue in owning your own business. Where would you like to open your own business?

Most likely in Springfield, Illinois where I live, or central Illinois. The Horse Shoe is really big here, but I have never had one. I should try one.
Basically a horseshoe is toast (next to eachother) with 2 hamburger (steakburger) patties mounted with fries and special cheese sauce. You eat it worth a knife and fork.
The meat can be changed to whatever you like such as ham/egg/etc.

Wow, those sandwiches sound interesting. You say there is two of them. My gosh, have you tried them yet? Do you think you could eat all of it? Maybe the Food Network show - Guy would be interested in coming that way to interview that place.
Do you have any culinary training? What kind of place would you open?

Yup, two pieces of toast, 2 hamburgers, a mound of fries and cheese. I probably will try one finally at work tonight. You can get it with one piece of toast and one hamburger, it is called a pony shoe.
What I really want is to make a cheese steak place. My perfect cheese steak is just 6 pieces of steak, sliced thin, cooking on the grill, then add green and red peppers and onions. Chop it all up, mix it together, then top with provolone cheese. I hate all the oil and grease in some cheese steaks.
I do not have any formal culinary training, but I can wing my way through it. I just need to learn how to use salt, and then that is how you be a good culinary artist.

What channel is this on? We have a DVR, I just need to find the channel and start to record it. I love old diners - so few are still around, kind of bothers me its one of the things I remember my mother telling me from "her time as a child" that I want for my kids now. And dine-ins? O my, I would be in heaven.

It is on Food Network channel. Depending on what service you have is what channel it is on. You can go to www.foodnetwork.com and click on this show for the schedule day and time. I have noticed they - Food Network is showing some of the older shows during the weekend. Hope this helps.

I've been meaning to catch this show. I have heard it is really good. I have a family member who lives near a place where they have been. They didn't even know about it.

You live in Springfield, Illinois? My best friend lives there too. I live in Springfield, Missouri. Just a hop, skip, and jump from you. Perhaps the next time I'm in the area, we could hook up and split a Horse Shoe.
