Chicken Casserole/ for a crowd

Instructions:
  1. Chicken Casserole
  2. Boil whole chicken with tops of celery, one onion cut up, s/p for 1 1/2 hrs till done. Cool and strip meat. Strain 5 cups of the broth and put back into pot.
  3. In skillet saute chopped green pepper, onion, celery with Jimmy Deans sausage and cook till done.
  4. In pot with 5 cups of broth bring to a boil. Add 1 c raw rice and 3 pkg of Lipton's Chicken Soup ( dry mix) and cook for 20-25 minutes till tender.
  5. Then add the chicken meat, sausage mixture, one can of drained sliced water chestnuts and one can of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken or cream of celery soup. Mix well.
  6. Put into a large casserole dish and sprinkle with sliced almonds
  7. Bake 350 for 40 minutes.

I am interesting in getting the full recipee. I noticed the ingredients are missing. On a weekly basis I prepare a dish for about 10 people. So this sounds like it would come in handy.

Sorry I just saw this now.

I wrote the recipe down as it was given to me.
I used 1 whole chicken.
celery, onion, green peppper to taste
1 pkg of jimmy dean sausage, I think its a 12 oz size that they come in.
2 boxes of the soup mix but you only use 3 pkg of the soup mixes out of the 4
