I have some bread today and they tasted like gas. Does anyone know how this happens. Out of my , I throw it in the trash. I forgot to return it and complain to store where I bought it.

Perhaps they use a gas range that uses Propane to cook instead of electricity? I know I've had this issue when we got a new stove and the gas/air ratio was off. Once we adjusted it (or had the Home Depot guy out to do it actually) it was fine. I can't say I've ever noticed it in store bought food before though. I'd bring it up anyway even if you threw it out, they should check anyway.

I am also thinking that at some point it may have been store near gas for a while. When it is hot, it is easier for gaseous substance seep in.

I brought it up to one of the baggers in the store and they told me that those breads are delivered to them by a bakery. So they told me that I should go complain to the bakery and to them. I was pissed off and so I just went home. I would never buy another bread from that store.

It definitely sounds like you should avoid that store-not just for bread in truth but other things too. A place that is so dismissive of your concerns, especially for something potentially serious like contamination of food is not a place that you want to be buying all your food from.
