VERONA —
Celebrity chef Tyler Florence, known for using innovate methods in traditional cooking, will bring his skills to the Mohawk Valley at a cooking demonstration at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at the Event Center at Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

The Food Network star is among the most popular young chefs in the world, having been recognized as a top chef in “Bon Appétit,” “Food & Wine,” “GQ,” “Wall Street Journal” and “USA Weekend.” Florence is best known for hosting the series “Tyler’s Ultimate,” “Food 911” and “How to Boil Water.” He also is a regular on NBC’s “Today Show.”

Off screen, Florence has authored three cookbooks and has collaborated on other cookbooks by fellow chefs and Food Network stars. Florence also manages his own restaurant, Bar Florence, in Manhattan.

Florence graduated with honors from the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in South Carolina. In 2004, he was awarded an honorary doctorate. After graduation, Florence perfected his skills working with New York City’s hottest chefs, Charlie Palmer, Marta Pulini, and Rick Laakonen. He then established his place in the culinary scene as executive chef at Cibo and later at Cafeteria.

Tickets are $30 and $25 and are available by calling 361-7469.
