Media-Newswire.com) - August 21, 2008 - The heat in the kitchen just got turned up as Destineer today announced the participation of celebrity chefs Mario Batali and Masaharu Morimoto in Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine, the company's new video game for Wii and Nintendo DS. Both Batali and Morimoto are lending their voices and likenesses to the game so that Iron Chef fans and gamers alike can play as these world famous Iron Chefs, or take them on head-to-head in the fast-paced culinary tournaments of Kitchen Stadium.
"We are tremendously excited to bring another Mario to Nintendo DS and Wii -- Mario Batali that is – as his Iron Chef reputation and cooking acumen is sure to bring a sweat to the brow of any challenger," said Juan Benito, Creative Director of Destineer. "We are equally thrilled to be working with the bold and visionary chef, Masaharu Morimoto, the only Iron Chef to hold the title on both Iron Chef America and Fuji Television's original Japanese Iron Chef program."
"I'm delighted to be involved with Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine," said Chef Batali. "My video game counterpart is as passionate and competitive in the virtual Kitchen Stadium as I am in real life, and I think the participation of Chef Morimoto and I adds a great level of authenticity to the game."
Adds Chef Morimoto: "Having been an Iron Chef in both Japan and America, I am pleased to partake in another exciting frontier – video games! Hopefully Iron Chef: Supreme Cuisine can inspire a new generation of great chefs."
In Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine players square off in Kitchen Stadium and battle through a series fast-paced and intense culinary challenges. Each victory advances players closer to a final showdown that will determine who will reign supreme as the next Iron Chef America. Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine is schedule for a fall 2008 release.

While I am not the worlds biggest Iron Chef fan, I won't deny the fact that I am looking forward to playing the game on my DS system! The shows premise seems pretty well suited for an entertaining game, and I imagine that's what the Iron Chef game will deliver. The additions Batali and Morimoto in the game will only serve to further the appeal, and it should sell pretty well.
