Following the scandal that haunted Chef Robert Irvine earlier this year, the Food Network is introducing a new chef to take on the culinary challenges this summer.Iron Chef Michael Symon will step into Irvine's shoes to be the new host of "Dinner: Impossible," which will premiere with new episodes on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
On the show, Symon and his sous chefs are challenged to create a gourmet meal for numerous hungry mouths while the clock ticks and he's thrown a curveball. In the episode titled "Passover," Symon must create a kosher meal by following all the firm culinary guidelines required. The following week's episode on Aug. 27 finds Symon at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.Symon is the owner and executive chef of the restaurants Lola and Lolita, both in Cleveland, Ohio. He was named the next Iron Chef on the 2007 Food Network reality show "The Next Iron Chef" and then was named the new host of "Dinner: Impossible" in April.
